Understanding Our Teaching Methodology
At Orlando Art Studio, we believe that art is learned through practice and observation. Our teaching methodology focuses on building a strong foundation in the elements of art—line, shape, value, color, texture, and form. In drawing classes, students start with basic mark-making and progress to shading and perspective. Painting sessions introduce color theory, brush handling, and various mediums such as watercolor, acrylic, and oil. Sculpture courses cover additive and subtractive techniques using clay, wire, and plaster. Each lesson includes demonstrations, guided exercises, and independent work with instructor feedback. We integrate art history references to provide context. Classes are structured but flexible, allowing students to explore personal interests within the curriculum. The goal is to equip students with tools and vocabulary to express their ideas effectively.
